Where is Ramsey?

Ramsey is located in the District of Huntingdonshire and the County of Cambridgeshire in England. As can be seen from the map above in terrain mode, the surrounding area is predominately flat fenland much of which is slightly below sea level. The land occupied by the town and site of the former abbey is just above sea level and was once an island in the surrounding fen when sea levels were much higher than they are today. Perhaps as a result of global warming and the slow rise in sea level Ramsey will once again become an island in the fen?
