Ramsey Abbey School

Ramsey Ailwyn School is a secondary school dedicated to teaching year 7, year 8 and year 9 students. Ramsey Ailwyn School is the younger brother to Ramsey Abbey School as the two schools are linked. When students are finished in year 9 they usually go to Ramsey Abbey School. Some students move to other schools.

There are about 1100 children that attend the Ailwyn and the school does its best to meet the needs of every student.

Ramsey Ailwyn School is a modern school that has ample facilities for younger students willing to do well. These facilities include:

  • Homework clubs - There are place to go after school to do homework and other work. There is normally a teacher or a member of staff there that  will help them with work if it is needed.

  • Sports clubs - There are many sports clubs that go on at the school such as rugby, football and cricket etc.

  • Food hall and canteen - There is a large food hall with an extensive range of foods available in the canteen.

  • Student support LSA (learning support assistants) - These are here to help student who misbehave, can't concentrate, are disabled or to those student that just need help with their work.

  • Music lessons - Music lessons and bands - These are available to those students who wish to learn and play an instrument.

  • Library - There is a library for students to use during lessons and out of lessons at lunch or after school.

  • ICT access- There are plenty of opportunities for students to use computers to do there work on and improve their ICT skills.
